Principal Yaga was Gojo’s teacher when he was a student.

The name “Satoru” (さとる, サトル) is a Japanese male given name derived from a Japanese verb meaning “to know” or “to understand.” Satoru can be written using various kanji characters, including 悟る, which means “to awaken spiritually” or “to attain a higher level of perception.” Other meanings of the name include, among others, “enlightenment” (悟), “wisdom” (智), and “philosophy” (哲).
His musical themes are “Mada Minu Asu Ni” by Asian Kung-Fu Generation and “Shame on Me” by Avicii.

During their college years, Satoru and Suguru were considered “the strongest,” capable of quickly defeating experienced and powerful mages. After realizing and honing his abilities, Satoru’s powers grew significantly, and he was able to force Toji Fushiguro onto the defensive and ultimately kill him with his most powerful technique—whereas previously, neither he nor Geto had been a match for the infamous Mage Killer. As he continued to grow, he surpassed Suguru in power to such an extent that Suguru acknowledged that Satoru had indeed become the strongest. Suguru also stated that Satoru was capable of wiping out all of humanity single-handedly—a feat that, as Suguru admitted, was beyond his own capabilities.

Personality
Satoru is a very complex person: serene and at times playful with his students and colleagues, but at the same time extremely cold-hearted and cruel toward the “elite” of the wizarding world.

Satoru is extremely confident in his abilities and his reputation as a powerful mage, considering himself invincible. His opinion of others is often limited to an assessment of their strength, and he is quite indifferent to anyone he considers weak. Furthermore, being heavily influenced by his own power, he is very arrogant. He is convinced that he is the strongest in the world—and technically, he is—stating during his battle with Toji Fushiguro that “In heaven and on earth, I alone am worthy.” This is further illustrated when he was tasked with protecting Riko Amanai, one of the few “weak” people for whom he genuinely felt sympathy. Any sympathy for her death was soon overshadowed by his immense pride and arrogance after he perfected his Reverse Cursed Technique in his next battle against Toji Fushiguro.

During intense battles, Satoru sometimes falls into a frenzied combat state, driven by his determination to win and the irrefutable proof that he alone is the strongest. His fighting style is characterized by aggressive and domineering attacks, while at the same time he demonstrates his refined techniques to his opponents. Moreover, he is capable of remaining cool-headed in critical situations. He prioritizes destroying his enemies over saving innocent people when he believes casualties are inevitable. However, this applies only to people killed by his opponent; he will not inflict any long-term harm or kill anyone innocent in order to secure victory.

Appearance
Satoru Gojo is a tall, handsome man with white hair sticking out in all directions. Most of the time, his light blue eyes are hidden behind glasses or an eye patch. He has a slightly muscular build.

He almost always wears a black eye patch and a dark school uniform: a jacket with a long collar, long black pants, and black shoes.

In casual settings and during his free time, he prefers to wear dark, round sunglasses and a dark long-sleeved shirt, and to let his hair—which is always sticking out from under the eye patch—hang loose.
