Lord Shen⁴

Shen left Gongmen City with his private army of wolves, consumed by hatred. For the rest of his life, he clung to the belief that his parents had wronged and betrayed him, viewing their actions as a courageous defiance of fate to achieve his goals. He swore vengeance and vowed that one day he would return to rule supreme over all of China.

Shen was born into the noble Peacock family of Gongmen City, admired by its people for inventing fireworks. As a child, his father allowed him to play near his throne, having promised him that he would one day inherit it. Despite already being in the line of succession to rule Gongmen, Shen craved even more power. During his childhood, Shen showed a growing interest in making weapons from the gunpowder used for fireworks. Worried, his parents consulted the court fortune teller about his future. She proclaimed that Shen would be defeated by "a black and white warrior," but only if he continued with his dark intentions. When Shen heard this prophecy, he correctly guessed that the "black and white warrior" referred to a panda.
However, instead of reflecting on his dark intentions, Shen led his army of wolf followers in the annihilation of a farming village inhabited by pandas, intending to commit genocide and leave no survivors, thus preventing the prophecy from being fulfilled. Shen personally participated in the raid, attacking any panda he encountered and issuing orders to his soldiers. At one point, Shen and two of his soldiers chased a mother panda and her cub into a nearby forest surrounding the village. After hiding her cub in a box of radishes, the panda attracted the attention of Shen and his troops, who pursued and killed her. Once the village was completely razed, Shen returned home filled with pride, expecting his parents' recognition. However, his parents, horrified by their son's actions, banished him from the city forever. After his death, his throne passed to Master Thunder Rhino and the Kung Fu Council.

Despite Shen's disdain for kung fu, he was a skilled and lethal practitioner of martial arts, with a legitimate ability that made him a master in his own right.

Shen possessed such advanced kung fu skills that he could hold his own against Storming Ox and Croc, both revered and accomplished kung fu masters. Shen was also able to counter their every move flawlessly and with lethal precision, suggesting he could have killed them at will. However, he was no match for Thundering Rhino, who swiftly defeated him, deflecting all of his swords with his hammer and, in one instance, with his horn, before striking him with the hammer with enough force to make Shen drop his weapons.
Shen also excelled in sword and spear combat, concealing a large number of blades in his robes, which he could draw with lightning speed and deadly accuracy. His arsenal also included his spear (which he practiced with most) and a pair of lethal-looking metal claws. In short, Shen's fighting style was both elegant and deadly. However, when enraged, Shen became more reckless, as demonstrated by his ferocious attack on Po, which prevented Po from noticing that he was severing the ropes holding his cannon, ultimately crushing him.

Shen is portrayed as extremely intelligent, irrational, ambitious, destructive, powerful, and utterly lethal. His past instilled in him the belief that he had been wronged and that the world owed him something, and he sought to do everything in his power to obtain it. This included inventing a powerful weapon, unlike anything the world had ever seen. Shen was determined to use this weapon to eradicate kung fu and seize control of China, proclaiming himself a benevolent monarch for his technological achievements. But the truth is that he is nothing more than a power-hungry child driven by misguided vengeance, and he will destroy everything in his path.
Shen proved ruthless and monstrously cruel, leading and personally participating in the genocide of all pandas in China to eliminate any possibility of them ever defeating him, as described in a divination he heard. Due to his royal upbringing, Shen preferred to let his guns and henchmen do the hard work rather than face such obstacles himself, with the notable exception of when he decided to defy the council in charge of his former home, though he did participate directly in combat when necessary.

With white hair and a pair of red eyes, Shen wears a long white robe fastened with a black belt. According to him, the robe is made of "the finest silk in the province." Along the edges of the robe is silver silk patterned with flame-like designs, and a flying bird, possibly a peacock, is perched on its back. He also wears metal claws that serve to protect his feet, ignite his cannons, and act as formidable weapons. Unlike his parents, Shen has leucism, meaning his plumage is atypically white.
