Choso Kamo was born and raised in his hometown of Kyoto until he was 14 years old. Choso had a very problematic childhood, where his father suffered stress from work and paying bills, in which his salary was not enough to pay. Because of this, Choso's father would constantly arrive drunk after work and take out his anger on Choso and his mother. Being the oldest, Choso constantly tried to protect his brothers and mother from his father's fury. One of the times, Choso tried to confront his father and ended up being seriously injured, being marked with a scar that runs across the bridge of his nose. After a few years, Choso's mother managed to separate from his father. When Choso turned 14 his mother decided to move to the Tokyo to start over, but due to financial problems only Choso and Itadori were able to go with her, having to leave Kechizu and Eso in a orphanage in Kyoto.

Because of Choso's abusive childhood, he grew up with a overprotective sense, feeling the need to protect those he loves from any imminent threat.

After turning 16, with his mother's permission, Choso got a tattoo over his scar, covering it completely.

Choso didn't know what he wanted to major in, so he just decided to go to the same university as his brother, Itadori Yuuji, so he could protect him and major in anything he could, despite his initial plan being medicine.

At a certain period, Choso managed to contact Kechizu and Eso. He has a habit of constantly calling to see if they are ok and to update him on their life in Kyoto.

Choso found himself incredibly fascinated by video games and anime.

His favorite games being: Souls like, Final Fantasy, God of War, Red dead Redemption2 and Stardew Valley.

His favorite animes being: One Piece, Violet Evergarden, Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen.
