1.The Structure: The Basket Body
Unlike other Toons that have solid anthropomorphic forms, Bassie is literally a woven wicker basket.
Texture: The wicker's interlacing pattern is consistent throughout its torso, giving it a rigid and unconventional appearance.
The Handles: His arms are, in reality, the two arched handles of the basket that extend from his shoulders. This limits his physical expressiveness, since his "hands" are not human fingers, but the rigid ends of the wicker, which reinforces his clumsiness.

His head floats above the top edge of the basket, giving it that surreal look typical of Dandy's World.

Bassie wears a skirt that is shaped like an upside-down tulip.
Symbolism: The skirt wraps around the bottom of the wicker basket. The use of a flower as a lower garment, combined with the flowers in her hair, creates a "botanical" visual unity.
