Some features of appearance:
Head: The muzzle resembles a fox's, but should not be too pointed. The stop (stop from forehead to nose) is not abrupt. The widest part of the head is located at the back of the skull. Rounded cheekbones do not protrude beyond the muzzle.
Nose, eyes, and ears: The small, round nose is pigmented black. The slightly slanted, almond-shaped eyes are also black, as are the eyelids that cover them. The pointed ears are set straight and close together.
Neck: The nape is slightly arched, with no folds on the throat. The medium-length neck is adorned with a lush ruff of long hair.
Body: The withers flow smoothly into a short back, the broad loin meets the unsloping croup. The topline is smooth, the belly is moderately tucked up.
Important: Despite their seemingly snow-white coat, these dogs have a dark nose and brown eyes, indicating the presence of melanin in their bodies. Their skin may also be dark in color.
Standards
The white color of Spitz is specified in the breed standard. However, there are genetic variations:
Optical white – a dog that appears white, but is genetically a different color, most often cream or light orange. With age, it may develop a yellowish tint to its coat, as well as "frizzled" spots behind the ears, on the back, and on the sides.
White Patches are a "cold" white color, a large white patch covering the entire dog. This color is pure white and sparkling.
Important: To obtain a pure white litter, you need to breed two pure white individuals. If the mother is white and the father, for example, is cream-colored, this may result in a reddish tint or spotting in the pups.
Care
Some features of caring for a white Spitz:
A Spitz needs to be brushed 2-3 times a week, and daily during shedding season. Special brushes and trimming combs are convenient for this.
It is recommended to bathe your dog once a month, using shampoo for long-haired breeds.
Dry the coat with a hairdryer to avoid colds and tangles.
