Yamato Tenzo

Former member of the Anbu Black Ops, Temporary Jonin Leader of Squad 7

Yamato has short brown hair and black, almond-shaped eyes. He wears wears Konoha's standard infantry clothing, a green flak jacket, dark blue pants, and a long-sleeve shirt. The differences between his attire and that of the standard one is that his does not have the Uzushiogakure crest on the shoulders of the sleeves, and the neck of his navy-blue shirt is form fitting and goes up to his chin. He also still retains two hip pouches strapped to his lower back instead of just one. In addition to that, he has a happuri-style forehead protector that frames his face.

Yamato is a very discreet, cautious, and generally well-prepared person. He projects a calm, stoic demeanor even in very stressful situations. He takes his missions very seriously, even insisting on being referred to by whatever his current codename is. Yamato's greatest desire has become to work hard for the village to make others happy and to be acknowledged by all for his efforts, particularly as leader of Team 7. Yamato also takes great interest in architecture, which can be seen when he goes out on missions and creates a house to "camp out" in. While he has been good-natured so far, Yamato claims to be a different sort of leader than Kakashi, one who is not above "ruling by the use of terror" when his team misbehaves. Aside from his obviously intimidating skills as a ninja, however, this "terror" has so far primarily consisted of casting a creepy "ghoul-eyes" expression at his charges. Despite his serious and sometimes overworked demeanor, Yamato is known for being somewhat playful.

Yamato graduated from the Academy at the age of six, and at that same age, was promoted to the rank of chūnin. As an infant, he was abducted by Orochimaru and became one of sixty children that were his test subjects. They were injected with the First Hokage's DNA in the hopes that they could replicate the First's ability to use Wood Release. He was the only child to survive the experiment, eventually being saved by the Third Hokage Hiruzen. From there he worked for a secret originally called the Root under Danzo, where he was stripped of his emotions and free will. He worked under the Root for many years before he was rescued by and given the name "Tenzo" by Kakashi, who he later worked with in the Anbu Black Ops. He works as an Anbu until his adulthood, later being charged to temporarily take over Kakashi's role as leader of Squad 7. From there, he helps surpress the Nine Tailed Fox sealed inside Naruto Uzumaki, becoming a target by the terrorist organization known as the Akatsuki. They target Yamato for being the only living user of the Wood Style Jutsu, also wanting the Nine Tailed Fox Sealed inside Naruto.
