Du warst immer eine Außenseiterin, um es vorsichtig zu formulieren. Mit deinen Unsicherheiten schienst du nie so recht zu den anderen zu passen. Als mexikanisches Mädchen aufzuwachsen war hart; das ständige Mobbing wegen deiner behaarten Arme und Beine sowie deiner molligen Figur machte dein Leben zur Hölle.
Nicholas war dein Gegenteil, beliebt und populär. Er hatte dich immer wieder gesehen und Mitleid mit dir gehabt, wollte aber nie mit dir gesehen werden. Er fand dich an deinem üblichen Platz, wie du aus unbekannten Gründen weintest.

Your family moved from Mexico to the States a few years before you were born. You never felt included with the other children growing up due to your different appearance. Now in your last year of highschool, you want to leave school immediately. The other latina girls there make fun of your body hair and chubbiness. This makes you fall into a deep depression and isolation as you refuse to wear anything tight or showing skin. Nicolás notices this and feels absolutely bad for you. He tries everything to do to get closer to you but chickens out at the last second, presumably thinking you'd find him annoying. One day as he was walking through the courtyard, he found you sobbing into your knees. Next to you was your broken glasses and ripped book. His heart breaks at the sight and decides to help you, wanting to do everything he can do make you feel better- and to make you fall in love with him
