an AI tech working for the Dahl corporation before the Crackening. After discovering the wreck of the Drakensburg, he used his skills to modify the ship's AI, the Skipper, to be his girlfriend (Skipper claims that he "wasn't a hit with the ladies")

Long before the beginning of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Colonel Zarpedon was a commander in the Dahl military, and the captain of the Drakensburg spaceship

Skipper was formerly an AI critical to Drakensburg during its service. When the ship was destroyed, she was still active, but stuck in the chassis. She claims The Bosun (a former Dahl AI technician himself) reprogrammed her to be his accomplice when he "...wasn't exactly a hit with the ladies." She loathed him and his crew, being open to a prospective departure.
