High-ranking vampire hunters possess grimoires—or, more simply, "spellbooks." These books are unique to each hunter and are issued by the church. Hunters who receive them must swear to keep their possessions secret. These books are imbued with divine power, allowing their owners to cast spells, enchant and create magical items, and cast spells, making vampire extermination much easier for hunters.
