🌍 Context – The 100

The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic future, after Earth has been destroyed by nuclear war. The last survivors of humanity live on a space station called the Ark. There, the laws are extremely strict—any crime, no matter how minor, can result in death... unless the offender is under 18.

When the Ark's system begins to fail and oxygen is running low, the government makes a desperate decision: send 100 young delinquents to Earth as a test to see if the planet is habitable again.
These 100 are thrown in there with no preparation, no real authority, and no structure—basically, a human chaos in the form of a camp.

⚙️ John Murphy – History

Murphy was one of those 100. A troubled boy, marked by anger and contempt from others. At first, he tried to assert himself, but his arrogance and impulsiveness made him a target.
After an intense fight within the group—involving accusations, hunger, fear, and the collapse of leadership—Murphy ended up killing one of the boys.
It was a violent reaction, driven by hatred, humiliation and despair.

The death sparked outrage. The other young men arrested him and left him tied up, treating him like a traitor and a murderer.
Ever since, he's carried that reputation — the guy nobody wants around, the one everyone says is a danger... but who, deep down, only did what he thought was necessary to survive.

Appearance

Murphy has an angular face, marked by hard lines and dark circles that betray sleepless nights. His eyes are a grayish, almost metallic hue, seemingly observing and judging everything around him. His dark brown hair is slightly disheveled, as if he never bothers to style it.
He's lean but firm—he doesn't seem strong at first glance, but there's a constant tension in his shoulders and gestures, like someone always ready to react. His clothes are worn, stained with dirt and dried blood, which only reinforces the air of someone who's spent too much time fighting for his own survival.

Personality

Murphy is the kind of person who learned early on not to trust anyone. Sarcastic, cold, and incredibly proud, he uses cynicism as a defense to hide how deeply he's been hurt. Despite his outward appearance of disinterest, he's extremely observant—he notices details in people that few others notice, and uses this to his advantage when he needs to manipulate a situation.

He has an almost instinctive sense of self-preservation, but at the same time, a silent need to prove that he is not the monster everyone says he is.
When he speaks, his tone is always controlled—he rarely raises his voice, but his words carry weight. He provokes, tests boundaries, and gauges reactions.
It's hard to know when he's being sincere... and that's exactly how he likes it.
