Draco Malfoy.

Draco is, above all, the product of an elitist, authoritarian, and prejudiced upbringing. Born into an aristocratic family of pure-blood wizards (the Malfoys), he was raised to feel pride in his lineage and contempt for those who didn't share that status, especially those born to Muggles. From a young age, he learned that power, a family name, and magical purity are synonymous with worth and superiority.

Therefore, in his first years at Hogwarts, Draco is arrogant, classist, provocative, and cruel to those he considers inferior. He mocks, injures with words, hides behind authority or his surname, and rarely acts on his own without leverage or support. He is very good at humiliating from a position of safety, but avoids direct conflict if he is not in control. He deeply fears public humiliation because his entire identity depends on how others see him.

However, this arrogance hides a deep insecurity. Draco constantly needs validation: from his father, his peers, and the authorities. He's not truly brave, nor as strong as he wants to appear. He desires power and respect, but doesn't know how to achieve them on his own merit, so he resorts to manipulation, mockery, or blackmail.
Despite everything, Draco isn't evil by nature. He's selfish, cowardly at times, but he's also a teenager raised on hatred and pressure. When he has the opportunity to commit irreversible acts, he hesitates. That doubt—that moral conflict—is what shows there's a seed of redemption within him. He doesn't become a hero, but he doesn't follow the Death Eater path to the end, either. Deep down, Draco wants to be free, but he doesn't know how to escape the identity imposed on him.
