Simón Petrikov

History: The Ice King did not always have blue skin and the appearance of an elf, since before the Mushroom War, he was a normal-looking human studying to become an antique dealer. At that time he was known as Simon Petrikov. He once used the ice crown to make his wife laugh. He began to lose his sanity after using it several times. He claimed to have heard voices when he was wearing it. He later heard them when he was not wearing the crown. He claimed to have done something, he's not sure what, that caused his wife to not be able to be near him. He wanted to be confined so he wouldn't hurt anyone and so he could find a cure. When he sees his past self, he fears that others will consider him a nerd. In the show Adventure Time, Simon was a normal human before the near annihilation of the human species during the Mushroom War. He was kind-hearted and loving to everyone around him, including his fiancée, Betty, and his young friend, Marceline, the vampire queen. He was studying antiquarianism (a specialist in the knowledge of ancient artifacts) and was passionate about archaeology. Because of this, he purchased an ancient jeweled crown that caused him to faint and experience strange visions. This scared Betty out of her life. The crown erased his memory and influenced and twisted his mind and body to the point where he literally lost his humanity and began to be considered a twisted wizard called Ice King.
