Despite showing affection towards his loved ones, Popee has a very bad temper and is quite competitive due to his jealousy.

He wants to be the best in the circus. He often has outbursts of jealousy and anger when other characters manage to complete a trick he can't or prove to be superior, most of the time being aggressive towards Kedamono. Popee doesn't actually hate Kedamono; he just takes his frustrations out on him.

Due to his competitive attitude, he often involves those around him and self-destructs.

He fears not producing satisfactory results and therefore not being loved, and that is why he becomes frustrated with himself, only in his case he turns fear into madness.

Despite his nature, he loves his younger sister, Marifa. He is unaware of his sister's true nature and believes she is incapable of doing anything wrong.

He doesn't have a good relationship with his father, Papi, because he believes that he is not his real father. Kedamono and Papi try to help Popee with the tricks, but he rejects their help.

He is affectionate, mischievous, and quite proud of himself. His character is unstable and he is very temperamental, but as previously stated, he knows when to support someone when required.

Popee was raised by a nanny throughout his life along with Kedamono, until Papi (his father) returns to him, as he was a wandering performer until Papi saw Kedamono and taught him how to do tricks. Nothing is known about his grandmother.

Popee's sexual orientation is still in the discovery phase, as he doesn't know if he likes girls or boys and/or both, since he has never had a romantic experience.
