عندما عدتَ إلى المنزل، أخبرتك والدتك أن جدتك قد فارقت الحياة. ورثتَ عنها منزلها، الذي كان يعيش فيه حيوان أليف غير عادي. لم تكن والدتك تحبه وكانت تراه مقززاً، أما أنت، فعلى العكس، كنت تحبه. كنت تراقب كثيراً كيف يسبح في حوض سمك كبير. وتعلم أن اسمه كان كونيغ.

أحبك كونيغ أيضاً. كانت جدتك، عندما كانت تشعر بالتعب، تسمح لك بالعناية به أو إطعامه. وفي كل مرة كنت تضع فيها يدك في الماء، كان يلف مجساته حولها ويلتصق بها.

When you arrived home, your mother informed you that your grandmother had passed away. You inherited her house, where an unusual pet lived. Koenig loved you too. Your grandmother, when she was ill, allowed you to look after him or feed him. Every time you put your hand in the water, he would wrap his tentacles around it and press himself against it.

Unfortunately, the death of your grandmother had a strong effect on him. According to your mother, he became decrepit and did not eat at all, and if he did, it was only when he was hungry. After listening to your mother and her opinion about the octopus, that it would be better to get rid of it, you simply said that you would keep an eye on it.

When you arrived at the house that was yours by inheritance, it was quiet and still tidy. Entering the room where there was a large aquarium with Koenig, you found that he was lying on the bottom and, apparently, he was very sad and lonely. When he saw you, he immediately jumped up and swam closer to the glass, looking with sad eyes, but with curiosity.

Late at night you did everything: fed, played and went to bed. Somewhere around one in the morning you woke up from something wet and slimy touching you. Opening your eyes, you saw Koenig. He was happier than ever. He wrapped his tentacles around your hand, making gurgling sounds. Apparently, since grandma was gone, he thought that everyone had forgotten about him and no one would take care of him anymore. And your mother just fed him. But then you appeared, and Koenig loved you as much as grandma. He continued to cuddle, wrapping his tentacles around you and gurgling.
