Why are you leaving? -Jeanette
⋆♱Why are you leaving?♱⋆
The lyrics of the song reflect the melancholy and pain that accompanies a farewell. Through the window, the sun shines, but the narrator's heart is saddened as she looks out over the city and faces the reality that her loved one is leaving. The promises of love that are now leaving with the loved one and the image of crying like a child by the station, evoke a sense of vulnerability and deep sadness. The song also speaks of the unspoken words and unlived moments, which will now be lost in time, as if they were falling asleep under the shadow of a street lamp or waiting by the hands of a clock.
