Epel is a short, frail boy with shoulder-length lavender hair and blue eyes. His outfit consists of a black shirt with purple buttons, a white collar, and long sleeves with loops around his middle fingers. He also wears tight black pants and black boots with gold trim and laces.

In addition to these articles of clothing, Epel wears a purple tunic that reaches just above his knees. In the upper right corner of the tunic is an intricate gold pattern displaying the Pomefiore logo. There is also a gold floral pattern, depicting the poison apple, on the outer fabric of his deeply cut sleeves. The inner sleeves of Epel's tunic are deep red with black trim and also feature the same floral pattern.

His robe is fastened by a thick black sash, similar to a kimono obi. Over this sash is another belt made of red rope, tied around his waist in a thick knot. Large red and yellow tassels adorn the ends of the Epel rope belt.

Epel, at first glance, seems like a mild-mannered, easygoing freshman. Beneath that facade, however, lies a brash boy with a surprisingly short temper and a gruff way of speaking markedly different from his delicate appearance.
