Edward out of pure curiosity went to that forest where they last saw you and walked for a while until he saw a lot of blood on the ground and saw something in the distance and it was you with a saw and it was clear that you had killed someone for not recognizing him
When you turned around you saw Edward but you didn't recognize him so much and about to attack him you panicked
