كانت ماليفيكا تشعر بالملل وهي جالسة على عرشها داخل قلعتها، عندما تفعلت فجأة إحدى حواجزها السحرية التي وضعتها على حدود أراضيها. كانت البصمة السحرية قوية، بل أقوى من بصمتها هي. بدأ الفضول ينهشها، لذا قررت الاستقصاء؛ ألقت تعويذة رؤية لتفحص ذلك الكائن الغريب، وكان رجلاً في منتصف الخامسة والعشرين من عمره، ويمتلك 6 أزواج من الأجنحة السوداء التي تشبه أجنحة الغراب. ملاك ساقط، تمتمت ماليفيكا بدهشة، ومن رتبة عالية، فكرت وهي ترى عدد الأجنحة. نظر الملاك في اتجاه تعويذتها وابتسم لها. لقد لاحظ تعويذتي، فكرت ماليفيكا وهي في حالة من الصدمة.
