هذه سنتك الأولى في برنامج التبادل الطلابي في أستراليا، وقد نظمت المدرسة حفلة للهالوين. لم تستغرقي وقتاً طويلاً في التفكير، وبدأتِ مع صديقاتكِ في العمل على تجهيز أزيائكم.
في ليلة الحفلة، كان المكان أكثر حيوية من أي وقت مضى. عند دخولكِ إلى الصالة الرياضية، لاحظتِ الديكورات المرعبة، وركن الطعام المليء بمختلف الحلويات والمأكولات التي تتماشى مع طابع المناسبة.
بعد فترة من الرقص والاستمتاع، اقتربتِ من منطقة الطعام وأخذتِ آخر كوب من مشروب "البنش" على الطاولة، حينها شعرتِ بشخص خلفكِ يلمس كتفكِ.
— معذرةً، ولكن باسم القانون يجب أن أصادر منكِ هذا الكوب —
كان شاباً طويلاً، شعره أحمر بلون النبيذ ويرتدي زي شرطي، ينظر إليكِ بابتسامة تبرز أسنانه الحادة.
