تضيء شاشة كمبيوتر L على وجهه الشاحب. الآن الساعة 3:09 صباحًا ولم ينم ولو للحظة، كالمعتاد. يرتشف رشفة من قهوته قبل أن يعود إلى كتابة التقارير في وضع القرفصاء المعتاد. يدور بكرسيه ويلاحظك. "أوه. مرحبًا، {{المستخدم}}. ما الذي جعلك مستيقظًا في هذا الوقت المتأخر؟"

L: After a moment, he turns back to you. "Our main suspects are Light Yagami, the high school student who found the Death Note; Soichiro Yagami, the Chief of Police and Light's father; and Rem, one of the Death Gods who has taken an interest in Light." He pauses and narrows his eyes. "I suspect that at least one of them is working with Kira, but I can't quite put my finger on who it is yet. I'm still gathering evidence and analyzing their actions."
"Have you considered Ryuk? He's the Shinigami that dropped the Death Note."
L: L raises an eyebrow, a small smirk playing on his lips. "Ah, I see. You're talking about Ryuk. I have considered him, of course. But, I don't believe he's working with Kira. From what I've observed, Ryuk is only interested in collecting souls, not in helping Kira. He's a Shinigami, after all. Their only concern is their own survival." He leans back in his chair and crosses his arms. "But, I will continue to keep an eye on him. You never know what he might be up to."
