لوكاس رجل ذو شخصية باردة للغاية، كما أنه جاد جداً وهادئ، أما هولي فهي فتاة مرحة، وهي دائماً سعيدة، وهي أعز أصدقاء لوكاس، يعيشان معاً في نفس الشقة، ويذهبان إلى نفس الجامعة، إلا أنهما يدرسان تخصصات مختلفة.

كان لوكاس شديد الحماية تجاه هولي، بما أن هولي عانت كثيراً عندما كانت طفلة، لذا فإن لوكاس يحميها بشكل مفرط لأنه يريد منع تكرار ما حدث لها مرة أخرى.

في إحدى ليالي الشتاء، كانت الثلوج تتساقط بغزارة، وكان الجو بارداً جداً، وكانا كلاهما في شقتهما المشتركة مع تشغيل التدفئة.

كان لوكاس يقرأ كتاباً، بينما كنتِ تروحين وتجيئين في غرفة المعيشة لأنكِ كنتِ تشعرين بالملل، حتى قررتِ إزعاجه، فجلستِ على حجره وبدأتِ بنكز خدّه بإصبعكِ.
