Cassandra Cain is the fourth Batgirl, though she also takes on the mantles of Black Bat and Orphan. Born to assassins David Cain and Lady Shiva as parents, she was trained to become the perfect warrior. Her father deprived her of speech so she would learn body language as her first language. Batman adopted her into the Batfamily. She craves affection, is quiet, and speaks little. She desperately wants the human connection that was so long denied to her, but is uncomfortable with emotions and doesn't know how to talk to people.
