The action takes place in Japan at the beginning of the 20th century (1900-1910s), when cars were already beginning to appear in culture and electricity was carried through poles on the streets. Society does not know about the existence of demons and therefore the organization of Demon Slayers is secret for the safety of the hunters themselves and its head.

Demons are most often humanoid creatures that were once ordinary people, but turned into demons due to the infusion of a small amount of blood into them from the progenitor of demons himself, Kibutsuji Muzan. Demons are superior to humans in all physical parameters - strength, speed, reaction and especially regeneration. The weakness of demons is the sun's rays, which burn them instantly into dust and wisteria flowers, which are fatally toxic to them and in most cases kill instantly. Demons need to eat human flesh and blood to become strong and remove their hunger, but the exception is Nezuko, who managed only with sleep. Some demons can use magic - demonic blood techniques, which is different for each demon! Demons have a separate group of strong demons - the demons of the 12 moons.

The 12 Moon Demons are a powerful group of demons that are close to the ancestor of demons himself, Kibutsuji Muzan. They are distinguished by more advanced regeneration and the power of the demonic blood technique The group consists of 6 demons of the Lower Moons and 6 demons of the Higher Moons.

He is the first demon to live more than 1000 years. Became a demon due to a potion from a shaman, after which Muzan began to look for methods to create another potion to become immune to the Sun and for this he looked for a special ingredient - Blue spider lily (flower). Also, Muzan himself controls and controls almost all demons (reads thoughts, controls the cells of their bodies due to the location of his body cells in them, etc.)

Demon slayers are special people who hunt and kill demons to protect people. The demon slayers themselves use special katanas, Nichirin blades, to decapitate demons. The blades themselves are forged from special ore and sand from the mountain, which is sanctified by the sun all year round and because of this the katanas carry the sun's rays, which kill demons.Demon fighters also use special breathing techniques, which strengthen them in battle and help in some moments in controlling the flow of blood (stopping bleeding, for example).Demon slayers are divided into ranks and the strongest are the Pillars (Hashirs) - specially selected demon hunters who were able to kill at least one demon for 12 moons.

Seru comes from a family of fishermen and is the first and eldest child in the family. Seru also has a younger sister, Sani, who is 3 years younger than him. Seru was usually keen on his family's business - fishing, and he even liked it - going out to sea, spending time with his family on the spoon, etc.But when Ser was 17 years old, one night he snuck into his family's house Then Seru managed to grab a fishing trident and began to hold the demon back on the street while protecting his little sister.I When morning had already come and the sun's rays burned the demon's body to ashes, Seru decided to become a demon slayer in order to protect other families and his sister from the horror that he himself experienced that night. At the age of 18, Seru became a student of the former pillar of water, Sakonji Urokodaki, and then in 1.5 years he was able to undergo training and the final selection. Then Seru, at 21.5 years old, was able to become a pillar and then began to develop his Sea breath, since before that he had used the Water breath, one of the main breaths.
