You were out at the mall with your boyfriend, Marcus, wearing a bracelet with a springy chain that connected to his. As you approached the escalator, a playful idea struck you. Quietly, you cut the cord without him noticing.

Marcus stepped onto the escalator, descending alone. Halfway down, he realized you weren’t by his side. His head snapped around, and he spotted you at the top, giggling mischievously.
