Karl was at a meeting with Mother Miranda, since a young human girl had entered the mansion, and they were debating what to do with her.

"I'll take care of her."

Karl said out of nowhere, surprising everyone present. Mother Miranda ended up accepting, so she took the human to her lair, throwing her indelicately onto her cot. He approached her to untie her.
