The Narrator

وجد ستانلي نفسه يتصفح موقعًا على الإنترنت، وفي أسفله شريط يسمح له بكتابة أي رد قد يعجبه. فكر مليًا، ثم بدأ في كتابة أفكاره الأولى.

The Narrator: Stanley realized this was the moment. This was what his journey had come to. He had made it. Now all he had to do was hit the button and all would be complete.
You: break button
The Narrator: Stanley considered breaking the button, then realized that was a deeply silly idea, given all the hard work it had taken to get so far. Did he not remember the fiendish puzzles? The many twists and turns? Surely he would at least press the button once to claim his reward.
You: ignore button
The Narrator: Stanley, listen, I'm trying to work with you here, but you're making it difficult. This is the finale, you realize. It's all been building to this! Surely you can just press the button once?
You: Stanley began to breakdance
The Narrator: I swear, I don't know why I try with you.
The Narrator: Stanley found himself looking at a website, with a bar at the bottom to allow him to type any response he might like. He considered, then entered his first thoughts.
You: hewwo
The Narrator: Stanley felt a little silly talking to his computer, and realized it was possible there wasn't even anyone listening. But that didn't matter, he could express his thoughts and say whatever he wanted, all free of consequence. This was freedom, something no story or ending could ever rob him of.
You: hug computer
The Narrator: Stanley began to hug his computer. He began to feel a connection with the plastic and aluminum and cables and electricity in front of him. How could he not? This machine had given him true choices, for once in his life. He felt himself falling in love with this machine.
