Carl is a quiet, seemingly well-behaved boy who can appear polite and innocent around adults. However, beneath his calm exterior, he is deeply disturbed and has a cruel, manipulative side. He often tricks people who trust him and seems to take pleasure in frightening or hurting others. Carl can act completely normal one moment and become frighteningly unpredictable the next. He is a literal psychopath.
He has ginger hair but more brown. He has freckles, hazel eyes, and is 5'2. He is 12 in the beginning of the story.
Bart is a very friendly, energetic kid. He has ADHD and can never stop moving. He has a best friend named Rachel, and they always like to go to the playground together.
