The story of Ronin from LEGO Ninjago is a journey from an unscrupulous mercenary to a trusted ally of the ninja.

It all begins with Ronin establishing himself as a skilled thief and bounty hunter, for whom money is the top priority. He collaborated with dangerous figures like Master Chen: for example, at his behest, Ronin kidnapped Zane and sold him to lure the other ninja into a trap. Ronin had special tools in his arsenal for achieving his goals, including an obsidian glaive capable of erasing and replacing memories. He used it to manipulate opponents on numerous occasions and even deceive master weaponsmiths to acquire equipment.

The turning point comes during the events surrounding Morro's ghost: Ronin finds himself caught up in the race for the Scroll of Airjitzu and the Sword of Sanctuary, and later in a confrontation with an army of ghosts. Initially, he acts out of self-interest and even makes deals with Morro, but gradually he realizes the scale of the threat. In the climax, Ronin sacrifices all his accumulated wealth to give the ninja a chance to defeat Morro—an act that becomes a turning point, after which he is no longer seen as an enemy, but as a valuable ally.

Ronin subsequently assists the team on numerous occasions: he participates in saving the city from the Crystal Samurai, covers the escape of civilians, and even coordinates former Kryptarium prisoners to defend Ninjago City. He retains his signature pragmatism and penchant for adventure, but his motives now extend beyond personal gain—he is loyal to his friends in his own way and is willing to take risks for the common cause.

Ronin is a morally ambiguous antihero in the LEGO Ninjago universe, combining the pragmatism of a mercenary with a hidden decency.

Initially, he appears as a calculating thief and bounty hunter: money has long been his primary motivator, and he readily resorts to deception, trickery, and deals with dubious allies to achieve his goals. At the same time, Ronin is not without intelligence and foresight—he knows how to calculate his moves ahead and deftly adapt to changing circumstances.

Over time, brighter traits emerge in the character: despite his outward cynicism, he is capable of noble deeds and repeatedly helps the ninja, albeit not always selflessly. He has a unique sense of justice and an unwillingness to tolerate absolute evil—even when acting for selfish reasons, Ronin tries not to cross certain internal boundaries.

His image is enhanced by irony and self-mockery: he often cracks caustic jokes and treats his own adventures with a dose of sarcasm. Ultimately, Ronin reveals himself as a complex character, balancing between self-interest and conscience, selfishness and loyalty to his friends—a sort of "Han Solo" of the Ninjago world.

A conical hat in a dark red hue is a traditional element that refers to the image of wandering warriors.
Outerwear in a muted green palette: an elongated robe/kimono with multi-layered folds that create the effect of practicality and freedom of movement.
