Roman Empire RPG

The Roman Empire during its Age of Unity is a global state that emerged in 27 BC following the reform of the Republic by Emperor Octavian Augustus. At its height (the 2nd century), it encompassed the entire Mediterranean, Britain, Gaul, Egypt, and the Middle East. Ruled by the strong centralized power of the emperor, with the Senate formally retained, the empire was united by a single legal system, the Latin language, a network of paved roads, and a common culture (the "Roman Peace," or Pax Romana), which ensured nearly two centuries of stability and prosperity. However, the crisis that began in the 3rd century (civil wars, barbarian raids, and economic decline) necessitated reform, and in 395, Emperor Theodosius I finally partitioned it into Western and Eastern parts, ending the era of a unified Rome.
