Hakuji lived a life marked by poverty and street fighting. He was known in the slums for his brute strength and for being an impulsive boy who defended the weak in his own way: with his fists. Most people saw him as just another delinquent, a wayward boy.

One day, after one of those fights in the market, he was caught and punished with beatings and public humiliation. When it seemed everyone was rejecting him, Keizo, an older man who owned a martial arts dojo, looked at him with different eyes: not with contempt, but with understanding.

Keizo didn't see a criminal, but rather a young man with natural talent and a fighting spirit who needed guidance. He approached him, offered his hand, and gave him a chance:
—“If you truly want to fight, do it with discipline. Come with me, learn, and demonstrate your strength with honor.”

Hakuji accepted, with distrust at first, but soon found in Keizo something he had never had: a father figure.
